Terms of Service

Last updated: June 2026

Please read these terms carefully before using this website or engaging my notary services. By using this site or scheduling an appointment, you agree to these terms.

Services Provided

Eric Wagar is a Texas-commissioned notary public authorized to perform notarial acts under Texas law, including acknowledgments, jurats, oaths, and Remote Online Notarizations (RON). Notary services are performed in compliance with the Texas Government Code, Chapter 406, and applicable state regulations.

A notary public is a ministerial officer — I verify identities and witness signatures, but I am not an attorney and cannot provide legal advice, draft legal documents, or tell you whether a particular document is appropriate for your situation. If you need legal advice, please consult a licensed attorney.

Appointments and Scheduling

Appointments are confirmed by mutual agreement via phone, text, email, or online booking. I reserve the right to decline any appointment request at my discretion. Scheduling a request does not guarantee availability until I confirm the appointment.

Please arrive on time or be available at the agreed time for your appointment. Late arrivals may result in a shortened appointment or rescheduling.

Cancellations and Rescheduling

I ask for at least 24 hours notice if you need to cancel or reschedule. Last-minute cancellations (less than 2 hours before the appointment) or no-shows may be subject to a cancellation fee. I will communicate any such fees clearly in advance.

Fees and Payment

Notary fees are governed by Texas law, which sets maximum fees per notarial act. Additional fees may apply for travel, after-hours appointments, or other services. I will provide a clear quote before your appointment. Payment is due at the time of service unless otherwise agreed.

I reserve the right to decline to notarize any document if I have reason to believe the signer is under duress, lacks capacity, or if the notarization would be improper under Texas law.

Identity Verification

You must present a valid, government-issued photo ID at the time of your appointment. Acceptable forms of ID include a driver's license, state ID card, or passport. For Remote Online Notarizations, identity verification is conducted through the RON platform's credential analysis and knowledge-based authentication process. I cannot notarize documents if I am unable to satisfactorily verify your identity.

Remote Online Notarization (RON)

RON sessions are conducted via a compliant, state-approved video platform. By participating in a RON session, you consent to the audio and video recording of the session as required by Texas law. Recordings are retained in accordance with applicable legal requirements.

You are responsible for having a reliable internet connection and a compatible device. Technical difficulties on your end may require rescheduling.

Limitation of Liability

My liability is limited to the notary fees paid for the specific service in question. I am not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from the use of this website or the performance of notary services, including but not limited to document rejection by third parties or delays in legal proceedings.

I make no warranties regarding the acceptance of notarized documents by any court, government agency, financial institution, or other third party.

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Texas. Any disputes arising from these terms or my services shall be subject to the jurisdiction of the courts of Collin County, Texas.
